You will hear how the hunt for the sperm whale in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans thrust Nantucket Island into international renown and prosperity. Learn how Quakerism influenced daily life, architecture, politics and education with interesting stories about fiery abolitionists and women's rights advocates.
For solid enjoyment, our presentation of the island's natural beauty including the cranberry bogs, endless sandy beaches, heathlands, ponds, seasonal flowers and trees, will be viewed, allowing you to capture these moments permanently. We stop for photos!
Tours are 11/2 hours. Among other things, you will visit:

- Birthplace of the first woman astronomer in America
- Village of Sconset with its 1700s whale houses and rose-covered cottages
